When creating the outside 3 panels for the CD case, we found a worn leather book to take pictures for the front and back covers, for an element of authenticity. With the book in this condition, it created the illusion that the diary had been in the owner's possession for a long time.

Like the lyrics on the inside panels, we hand drew the band and album name. In doing so, we found that we had created the band's logo - it represented the band's style of music and image so well that we ended up using it on the poster as well.

We continued the theme of the diary with the spine of the CD, as we used the same background for the spine. For the back panel, we hand drew the song titles then moved them about to look imperfect, as with the lyrics on the inside.

Then for the third panel, we continued the stained paper look. We did this because, as you were opening the CD case, this would be the last panel before the digipak was fully opened. By doing this we have made this panel seem like a page of the diary. We chose this image of the girl, because it's from the canvas, which features in the music video. This image is also used in the advert.
