How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Whilst in the process of constructing our research we used technologies such as the internet. We used youtube and other video sites to get inspiration on how to portray a deterioriating relationship without being to cliche. We used the videos to compare and contrast different genres and styles that we would like for our final piece. Therefore assessing the aspects of the videos that we felt would work well with our music video and others that we firstly thought would work, but later, after research, discovered would not necessarily work well with the ideas that we had created. Everyone came to the group with their own individual ideas of how they would personally like the video to look and thus we collected an array of different styles, genres and themes that could be interpreted into our final piece therefore having a little bit of everyones' own ideas in the final piece.

Here are examples of the videos that insprired each individual:

We firstly decided to take some pictures of someone playing the guitar to get an idea of what style and angles we wanted to use for our music video. This basically enabled us to refresh our shooting skills and how to shoot impressive but effective shots. We used this as our preliminary project so that we could get some idea of what we actually wanted for our final shot. What is more, we used a variety of shots such as low angle shots using the Nikon D6. We were also able to use this camera in the studio as it is linked to the lighting within the studio, we were able to arrange the lighting in the studio to make an effective shot but the camera also worked well outside due to its lense. We also experimented with the zoom, again, to judge the different shots and angles that we could like to use for our final project/video. Furthermore, we used the same camera to take some test shots for our print work.
