After focusiong on a certain poject for a period of time it is really helpfull for a 'fresh pair of eyes' to take a look at your work to help you to improve and develop your ideas. After completing the music video, digipak and promotional poster we asked a number of people for there oppinion in the hope that they would help us to improve on our work.
Feedback on the video.
Although people said they 'really enjoyed the video' they were also very helpful in giving us a few pointers on how to imporove. They felt that one of the 'flashbacks/memories that that male lead had was slightley confusing and not as obvious as the others. The flashbacks show the relationship begining to fall apart and they felt that the memories bar one portrayed this very well. With this in mind when we watched the video back as a group we felt the same and decided to replace the memory with an alternative that we had also filmed.
Feedback on the print work.
We had a variety of images that we could use for both the album covers and promotional poster but we really wanted a specific look to them both. Therefore we created a few options for the cover and the poster and asked people there oppinions to help us to come to a conclusion.
An option for the promotional poster.

When we asked people there oppinion on this option they felt that it was to 'busy'. They felt that the picture was 'interesting and in line with genre but was not quite right for a poster'. There were also comments on the writing, they thought because of the 'dark' and 'busy' background it was hard to read and was not eye catching which is what you would want when you are promoting an artist. With this feedback we were able to go back into Photoshop with other images and create a poster that looked more professional. When comparing the two posters, the before and after we felt that the audience feedback was very helpful in creating a promotional poster that we were all happy with.
An option for the album cover.

This image was also an option but this time for the album cover. When we asked people on there oppinion they seemed to like the image but none of them felt it was 'album cover material'. We wanted the simplistic look and with the electrics in the back it was aslight distraction and eye sore. Also they felt that the way the artist was facing to the side did not create as strong an image as would be if he was facing front on. With this feedback in mind as a group we decided t use an alternative image that we fekt was alot stronger and more of the look we were going for. Therefore the audience feeback really helped us to develop our work and look at it in a different way than we were doing originally.
