We deliberately used the diary idea when creating the CD case, as it maintains a level of consistency within the theme. The diary is meant to represent the boy in the video's perspective - in the video the focus is split equally between the boy and the girl, whereas in the print products a bit more light is shone on the male character.
The way in which we have attempted to do this is by including two images of her, one which is a polaroid photo which looks to have been torn, then stuck into the diary. By doing so it shows that she's always on his mind. Then, to maintian the diary theme, we have included doodles, which slightly expose the owner of the diary's deeper and more personal thoughts.
Also, we included several lyrics from some of the songs on the album, and hand drawn them then scanned them in to maintain the personal element. We selected several of the lyrics that we felt were appropriate to the mood we were setting. For example, "I'm left to discover on my own". We also highlighted a few words from each line to emphasise this, such as " I suffer". When hand drawing these lyrics, we deliberately drew them to not look perfectly even and sometimes in the wrong order, to represent that they are the writer's ideas, which are spontaneous.
