Promotional poster

6 panel didgipak

When begining our project we researched a variety of music videos and all had ideas of what we wanted to create. After spending time narrowing down those ideas we knew that we wanted to create a piece that had a slight indie style to it as the song we had chose was within that genre. The print work had to support the music video and really end itself well to the piece and as a combination look proffessional and well done. To create print work like this we spent time researching photographers and other artists ancillary texts to help inspie is and develop out work. Heidi slimaine was a big inspiration when it came to the photography side of the print work, we wanted to create images that were both simplistic but powerful, therefore her work really helped us on how to do so.
Heidi Slimane.

As a group we felt that if we could create images simular to these but with our own slant on them that they would create a really well done combination with the music video. After using Photoshop to edit our original images we were all really happy with how they turned out and thought they worked really well with the video. The indie genre is obvious throughout the two and gives the audience from the start a clue on the type of video we have decided to create.
A promotional poster was what would bring both the video and album together. We researched a few professioanl posters but we felt that we knew were we wanted to go with the poster because of how the video and digipak had turned out. Again we wanted to create somthing simple but powerful and eyecatching as a professional artist would want to help promote their albums. After a few attempts and using audence feedback we were able to create a poster that as a group we were all very happy with and were able to present with the digipak and music video as a combination that worked well.

As a combination we feel that the ancillary texts and the music video works really well, with an obvious genre running throughout and a simple but powerful style being created they lend themselves really well to each other. The project as a whole is easily reconisable to its target audience and when seen together becomes really effective with the combination of the storey line wthin the video and the black and white, subtle images on both the promotional poster and six panel didgipak.
