Visual effects/ Shots

Depth of Field

A technique we would like to experiment with is depth a field which focus's on one main aspect of the frame whilst blurring the the rest of the image, this would be an interesting visual effect to use when going from one band member to another or maybe from the crowd to the lead singer there are a range of dfferent ways we could encorperate this.

In the photoshoot we could use a macro lense which is great for capturing fine detail close up and you can adjust the depth of field accordingly.

Panoramic Photography

Similarly panoramic images are asthetically pleasing and are interesting to look at, this shot can be used for the advertisement or the digi pack or even as a still for in the video of a location or establishing shot. It helps the reader to get a sense of place and timing and sets the mood.

Whipping Pan

(3.22-3.34 seconds)

This whipping pan would look great in our music video because the speed would fit in well with the speed of the song and rhythm of the music video. However it would be very hard to do because of the complexity of the shots.
The best way we could do this is with a stills camera or steady camera, take 3 individual shots of the person then in adobe premire pro add a visual panning effect over the images to make them flow together as if it was filmed as one.

Fast Motion/Motion Blur

(1.00-1.06 seconds)

This shot just reflects and embraces the whole idea and theme of our music video, the shot could be from the perspective of the 'drunk girl' in the taxi feeling the effects of the heavy alchol consumption, it also reflects time passing her by without her knowing.
We can add the motion blur on the lights when we come to edit our footage.
Again it keeps up with the song and the pace of the video and we have found a place in the song which would be perfect for this tyoe of shot.
