Camera shots

Establishing shot

An establishing shot is a shot that sets the scene and gives the viewer a sense of time and place

Medium close up

A medium close up can be used during a conversation, to see a reaction and also see some background.

Close up

A close up can be used to capture a change in emotion and facial expression

Extreme close up

An extreme close up to me shows a sudden change in mood, the climax of a sequence or the awareness of something.

Low angle shot

A low angle show can establish rank and power with someone higher than the opposing person showing they are better than them

High angle shot

Again a high angle shot reflects importance and presense.

Canted Frame

A canted frame looks quite hand held and natural, it is used to possibly make the viewer uneasy.
