Narrative

With regards to completing the narrative within the set time limit of five minutes, we have decided to do a full narrative, rather than one that cuts off. After much deliberation we have decided to use the speed dating idea, in a way that is relatively comical rather than a serious radio drama, therefore appealing to our target audience as, after asking members of our class, we believe this is what they wanted.

After obtaining feedback and ideas from our focus group, we have decided to do the radio drama as part of an episode from a series, rather than a single one off drama. The benefits of it being part of a series means that listeners would have been able to put the series as part of their weekly routine, knowing when it was on and what to expect. Also, we would have to be wary to ensure that first time listeners will still be able to understand the drama.

The basic storyline:

* The protagonist has relationship issues, and shares them with her friend. * Her friends solution, is to go speed-dating, reluctantly she agrees to attend * At the speed dating, she encounters men of all varieties. * Throughout the speed dating, there is a stream of her thoughts as she deals with each man in turn. * The result, and end of the drama, is that she realises it's too much, and abruptly leaves the event.
