Process of completing the project.

As we are coming to finshing the project we are finalising the main project itself but also working on the promotional package for our music video. After watching our video, after full edit with all scence in the right sequence, we decided to add on effect onto the video using after effects. We wanted the 'past tense' scenes to have a sort of distorted effect, however, after trial and error we felt that this effect didn't work well with the complete video. We therefore agreed to have a different colour for the past tense scenes rather than a distorted image. We firstly decided to make these scenes different so that the audience can identify the 'argument' scenes, however, we also felt that the colour of these scenes also reflect that of the mood of the characters within the shots, emphasising the miserable attitude towards eachother and the deterioration of the relationship. As for the promotional package we used our performer on the cd cover using a variety of inspired photoshoots (see previous posts) we also decided to make these images an unnatural colour to firstly make the images, the cd cover and the cd advertisement look unique but also interesting. What is more, the black and white images echo that of the tone and genre of the music but also we felt that the coloured images didn't cast the right effect. Whilst in the editing process we discovered that the film footage that showed the good side of the relationship didn't work with the music at all. The fast tempo and heavy lyrics seemed too energetic for the 'good' scenes. We therefore made a collaboration of all of the 'bad' moments within the relationship thus directly reflecting that of the lyrics.
