Practice Editing

With the footage from our first shoot of the band, we did a quick exercise on Adobe Premier just to test out the effects we'd like to use and learn from mistakes we might make. Here's what we came up with:




As you can see we briefly used the whipping pan (at 0:10) that we had previously blogged about, we also had a play around with effects such as 'lightning' and used unusual zooms like 'cross zoom.' Although we are not sure if the lightning is appropriate, it was a good experience.

We were glad to get more familiar with Premier and are looking forward to doing our main video. In the video we later make, we will actually have the singer miming to the music and the instruments in time but as this was a practice, it didn't really matter. We will use better quality sounds by using their actual CD track rather than their live music. We have learned that although lighting is important, Premier is very good at brightening the footage.
