Reasons for the Change of Song

We decided to alter our song choice because we felt that "Broken", with its faster rhythm, will help to maintain audience interest as opposed to the rather monotonous slow pace of our previous song choice, "My Immortal". "Broken" features a variety of instruments with changes in pace throughout the song, creating a powerful impact yet proving more interesting to a listener rather than the continuous slow pace of a piano that comprises of three quarters of "My Immortal". One instrument repeating itself throughout a song can eventually become tedious to a listener, as we discovered through repeatedly listening to "My Immortal", yet this is avoided with our new song choice. Furthermore, the narrative throughout "Broken" is stronger than that in "My Immortal", providing a firmer foundation for us to construct a story around the lyrics, allowing us to create an effective music video that will relate to the song well.
